Bloodstone comprises the seal itself, an intaglio carved with the image of a crest with tiny five-petaled flowers on a striped ground contained within a shield shape.
Encased in 15k yellow gold that is deeply chased with flowers, patterns and a top of splendid, rayed gold, the seal has a regal appearance. The large floral split ring is gold over metal to allow strength and enough spring for use.
The box is maroon leather with a muted peach silk and tan velvet interior and a deep recess for the seal's precise fit. This floral chasing is typical of English workmanship and we assume the ink date to the interior cover is the year created.
